I might have not nurtured it for a while but it nurtured me.
The images you see printed on these tiles are from original Watermedia paintings I have created based on the effects of nature in Persian art. This is based onl my personal observations and reflections.
Sixteenth century Persian Miniatures for me was the height of beauty for these magnificent book illustrations. There truly is a universe in every square inche of these paintings. My paintings are only a drop in the ocean when it comes to portraying the colors, designs, patterns and the beauty the miniatures behold.
My goal is to preserve and nurture the Art of Persian Miniatures in my own style. I have been lucky enough to have studied with the Master Mahmood Farchian and have seen perfection through his paintings. I also consider myself lucky to have my own style to nurture the jewel tones and the beautiful patterns the Persian miniatures offer. I see the influence of Persian Miniatures in my work no matter what subject or media. It shows through from my early westernized miniature landscapes to my later large abstract paintings. I also see that influence in my jewelry and the glass towers I create while not painting. As time passes my love for this form of art grows fonder and seems like it has become easier and easier to let that influence to come forward.
My search to become a better painter is still young, even after forty something years, but at this point I am content to master where I am. After all some things in life are not meant to be found but they have to find you! I think I got lucky and I appreciate the gift of Persian Art and Nature series.
