Rachel Morris
Rachel Morris is a metalsmith whose jewelry marries structural and organic forms, drawing inspiration from architecture and the natural world. She owns Eclectic Nature Jewelry & Design, crafting one-of-a-kind statement jewelry in silver, gold, mixed metals, and gemstones and pearls. Her work has been featured in galleries and at craft shows across the country for over 30 years.
Rachel is a seasoned instructor and former high school teacher who holds a Master of Arts in Teaching, having taught metalsmithing at esteemed institutions such as Brookfield Craft Center, Silvermine Arts Center, and Metalwerx, and more locally, at the CMAG Makerspace. Her focus is on fabrication which includes hollow forms, clasps, and innovative stone settings, with workshops offered both in person and online. She is passionate about fostering creativity in her students and is pleased to bring her engaging teaching style to workshops nationwide. She is presently working on a book about clasp-making.
She has been fortunate to study with some phenomenal metalsmiths, including John Cogswell, James Binnion & Chris Ploof, Jayne Redman, Joanne Conant, Kate Wolf, Raychael Wengenroth, Anne Wolf and others. She is a past President of the Creative Metal Arts Guild (CMAG) in Oregon.
In addition to her jewelry practice, Rachel provides business expertise to Fortune 500 and other national and international corporations through M.G.C.D. Consulting, specializing in process improvement, project realignment, technical development, and analytics. Balancing art and business, she emphasizes the importance of finding harmony between creative pursuits and professional goals when helping others navigate the intersection of artistry and entrepreneurship.
