I create intricate landscapes, sometimes with birds and animals, from my home studio in Beaverton, OR.  I began my glass art journey in 2012 after being inspired by glass displays at art fairs.  A friend suggested I could learn to create glass art myself, leading to learning the art form at a local glass studio.  My passion for glass art was further fueled by my husband's photography, the beauty of nature around me, and our travels.

I design my kiln-formed glass pieces from my home studio, starting with large sheets of glass, crushed glass frit, and stringers to create intricate landscapes.  I create visual depth by layering and arranging the glass, utilizing multiple firings in the kiln.  I intentionally leave texture on my artwork to make them visually and tactilely engaging.

I utilize two techniques that I’m known for:

• Mimicking the Bullseye rolled edge to use as the top for some of my artwork.

• Tack fusing the foreground of the landscape pieces after full fuse firing the background and mid-ground, resulting in a lovely texture.

My process is deliberate and takes from 4 to 15 days to achieve the desired effects of depth, texture, and movement.
