Nature and travel inspire me to play and create kiln-formed glass. I am fascinated with the little pieces that make up our world. When traveling most of the pictures I bring home are focused on some small detail of an ancient building, the lovely texture of moss on stones, so many amazing colors everywhere.
When I am down in my studio with all of these jumbled up details I let color and shape guide me. Maybe today an old stone path cracks in an urban sidewalk, or a beautiful flower just opening up. I use layers of glass to express the awe and joy I feel observing the world around me.
I live in Portland, in an old house surrounded by a large garden I love to play in, with two sweet, crazy cats, and one husband who patiently puts up with me.
My functional art pieces can be found at The Workhouse in Bend, Dragonfire Gallery in Cannon Beach and Rain Spark Gallery.
I welcome inquires about custom pieces as well as about available inventory.
